LordshipDate of Birth: 1990 Breed: Holsteiner Height: 16.3hh Stud Fee: $Private Treaty- Frozen Semen Only Booking Fee: $Discounts: Premium Mares and Multiple Bookings Breed Approvals: AHHA Comments: Lordship was the first warmblood stallion acquired by October Hill Farm, selected from among a dozen options to be our flagship breeding stallion. A beautiful, kind, and playful individual of enormous personality and charisma, Lordship charmed his visitors, earning friends and fans wherever he went. Bred by famed Holsteiner breeder Lothar Voelz, Lordship earned approval and premium status from the Holsteiner Verband, and later finished 5th in his stallion testing at Medingen in 1993. After returning from a lease to a Danish breeder, Lordship was purchased and imported by October Hill Farm in 1998. By the very respected stallion Lord Calando, Lordship excelled in both dressage (as did the Lord Calando son Lacantus) and in jumping (as did the Lord Calando son Lux Z), and produced many foals with the ability to perform well in both of these disciplines. Sadly, Lordship was lost in October of 2007 due to complications arising from the injuries which forced him into retirement. He is missed daily, but lives on in his foals.

At his stallion testing in Medingen, Lordship was awarded Class I status, with equally high scores in all sections of the testing, and an overall final score of 127.6, placing him fifth of the forty-four stallions at that event. His bonts were 8777678.
In 1995, LORDSHIP competed in the German National Show Jumping Championships for five-year olds, and, in 1997, while leased for breeding to Denmark, he earned an invitation to the Danish National Championships in both dressage and jumping.
Following his arrival in the United States, Lordship participate in Grand Prix events in Chicago and California, with good result. After making tours of all the big show circuits in the United States, including Indio and Wellington, LORDSHIP returned to October Hill Farm for breeding full time in 2002.

Lordship produced three crops of foals in Europe , from 1993 to1996. before he was leased for breeding to Denmark. During his short time at stud in Germany, Lordship produced over 18 premium foals and now has thirteen daughters registered as broodmares with the Verband. In 1999, Lordship's most successful daughter Lucile, out of a Corleone mare, won reserve champion non-local mare at the Schleswig-Holstein mare show, and later produced the approved stallions New Lord, by Newton, and Casillas, by Colman. Lordship is also the maternal grandsire of the stallion Sir Isaac (also by Newton), who stands in the United Kingdom. In 2000, Logik HS, by Lordship, earned a Bronze medal at the Danish Elite-Grading Show. Several Lordship offspring have excelled in the jumpers in Europe, including the Grand Prix horse Le Joli 2.
In 1999, Lordship was ranked 2nd in Pferd+Sport magazine as a producer of jumper horses. In the young stallion ranking, Lordship placed 2nd in breeding values for the sport, behind 1st place Corofino and ahead of 3rd ranked Riverman (Redfort). The significance of this ranking can be understood when comparing the number of offspring used to calculate the ranking. While Corofino and Riverman had 74 and 20 offspring respectively competing at the uniform level, Lordship had only 10. The breed values are created by computer programs developed by the German Equestrian Federation to register starts and placings on horse shows for central processing. Thus, the breed values in this ranking show the success of offspring in relation to the number of offspring in competition.
Many Lordship offspring have received premium status, including the premium select mare Phamous (50 points) and the premium mare Rollergirl(48 points). Other premium foals include Landonn I, Landonn II, Remarkable Gal, Riga, Tallulah, L’Ordinance, Laretto, Lakota, and Wasabi. Lordship offspring are competing in the United States in a variety of sports. Lightning Speed(aka Lord Lightning,) by Lordship out of an Alcatraz mare, placed in several Grand Prix, including a 5th in the $25,000 Memphis in May Grand Prix, and 7th in the $35,000 Oaks Blenheim Classic. The stallion Lord of the Dance, by Lordship, owned by Fran Selby, is currently competing successfully in mid-level dressage. Other offspring in sport include CR Nirvana and CR Roxanne owned by Clear Round Showjumpers of Texas. Lord Legat competes successfully in amateur dressage in California. Many foals are also being shown in the USDF Breeders Championships series, and some are showing up in the hunter ranks as well.
Lordship passes on his size, color, type and movement with consistency, and all foals carry his gracious face and large eye. All have exhibited correct, elastic and ground-covering gaits and consistently offer trainability and rideability.
