WE ARE CELEBRATING!!

October Hill Farm is happy to announce the recent accomplishments of offspring by our stallions Lordship, Amaretto D II, Cascani, Ocordo, Alamo, and Mezcalero, as well as congratulations to offspring owners!

Foals by October Hill Farm stallions did well at their respective inspections in 2005: Maida, by Mezcalero, earned an average 8.3 with an 8.6 for movement, a gold premium score, from the RPSI. This should place her in the top five fillies nationally for 2005. Casino, by Coconut Grove, and Oley, by Ocordo, also scored gold premium. At the AHHA inspections, Carino by Coconut Grove, Valora by Acord III, and Lord Von Luft by Lordship, all received merit scores from some tough German judges. October Hill presented two Amaretto D II mares, Atalanta and Anjou, on the AHS tour and both mares were entered into the Main Mare book. Atalanta’s full sister Artemis, was also presented in the foal class with good remarks.

Mare Lease News:
October Hill’s Ariadus mare Madeleine is soon to foal out a second time for lessee Lisa O’Brien of Seguin, Texas. Last year, Madeleine produced a filly by Cacique. This year’s foal is by Camiros. Lisa plans to present both at the AHHA inspections in 2006. Lisa is taking advantage of our lease program once again in 2006-2007 with the lease of Lavitta, our Cassini I mare. Also, El Campeon Farms has welcomed their first of three foals expected in 2006 from leased October Hill Farm mares. The first foal, a filly by Landstreicher out of one of our Contender mares, was born the day before Valentine’s Day. Later in the spring we will have another Landstreicher foal from another Contender mother, and a Nick of Time/Cassini I foal.

Congratulations
to Doug White, the owner of two-time YJC Western Regional Champion, Apache, by Mezcalero. Apache, bred by Doug White out of a Thoroughbred dam, was the 2004 5 Year Old Champion, and confirmed his place as a top-notch competitor by repeating his win as a 6 Year Old in 2005. This winter, Apache has been extremely competitive at the Desert Circuit in Indio, California, with wins and top placings at 1.40 meters and higher with regular rider Richard Spooner.

Congratulations
are also in order for the owner of Tequilero, a stallion by Mezcalero which placed 8 th in the very tough 2005 YJC Western Regional Championships for 6 Year Olds. Tequilero is owned by Enrique Sanchez Palacios and was shown to the placing by Arturo Hernandez. Tequilero was produced out of a Trakhener mare by Donauwin

Congratulations
to Brooke Renaud and Blue Brook Farm of Ohio on their continued success with the Lordship son Landonn I. Landonn has been approved for breeding with the American Warmblood Registry and the Renai Registry for half-Arabian sporthorses. Landonn was ranked 12 th in the USDFBC HOY Mature Stallion standings in 2005, as well as Reserve Championship award in the AHHA HOY awards. Brooke reports that Landonn will once again represent the Holsteiner breed at the upcoming 2006 Equine Affaire in Columbus, Ohio, April 6-9. Landonn’s first foals are due in 2006.

UPDATE!  Landonn I has now been approved with the RPSI registry following inspection on the 2006 tour!  Additionally, Landonn I’s photo now appears on joint supplement products sold by Uckele Health & Nutrition!  Check out their website at www.uckele.com.

Congratulations
to Lord of the Dance, who continues his winning ways in dressage, and especially in the Musical Freestyle classes at 3 rd Level. The Chronicle of the Horse recently carried a short piece on Lord of the Dance, a stallion by Lordship, after he competed successfully at the Garden State Classic Dressage Show. Lord of the Dance finished 22 nd in the 2005 USDF rankings for musical freestyle.

Congratulations
to new owner Shari Smoke on the purchase of two October Hill foals, Hiya Handsome (former OHF stallion Hammlisch by Heraldik) and Talkshow (by Lordship). Shari lives in Austin, Texas, and has been active in the hunter and jumper circuit in the past. Both Handsome and Talkshow live at Shari’s house and she has plans to start showing them in hand in 2006.

Congratulations
to Darragh Kerrins on the purchase of the imported gelding Mr. Jones, by Padarco (Darco). Darragh Kerrins is a professional rider with Innisfree Stables and purchased Mr. Jones at the 2005 Winter Equestrian Festival. Mr. Jones was imported by October Hill Farm and is expected to continue his spectacular upcoming performance as a jumper.

Congratulations
to new owner Dan Michaels of Hygiene, Colorado, on the purchase of the yearling colt Landonn II, by Lordship. Landonn II attended one USDF show as a yearling where he won the yearling colt’s class, was named best colt, and was reserve in the IBC Holsteiner class. Before he had the chance to attend a second show, Mr. Michaels, who had previously been trying to breed a Lordship foal at home, stepped in to buy the youngster. Landonn II is intended for a career in dressage and eventing.

Congratulations
to new owner Dontia Benson of southern California on the purchase of Lord Legat, a son of Lordship. Dontia is a dressage rider who starts her own prospects and takes them to the upper levels of competition. Dontia purchased Lord Legat shortly following the Del Mar Equisales Auction in October of 2005, after he failed to bring the minimum bid. Lord Legat has been started in a dressage career.

Congratulations
to new owner Lisa Tomko on the purchase of Rumpus Room, a mare by Lordship. Lisa is a resident of the Malibu are and purchased Rumpus Room as a hunter prospect. Rumpus Room has earned both Zone 7 and Texas Hunter Jumper Association year-end awards in hunter breeding.

Congratulations

Secret Shine is out of the mare Ex’s N’ Oh’s ( Treasury Bay), who competed consistently to top twelve national placings in the A/O hunters in the years between 1996 and 1999. Secret Shine is intended to have a career in the hunter ring.
October Hill Farm’s Tallulah, a mare by Lordship, and a full sister to Landonn I and Landonn II noted above, finished 2005 ranked 9 th in the USDFBC standings for two-year old fillies. Tallulah also was presented for the AHHA mare book on the fall tour and earned Main Mare status and the reserve site championship.
